“The development of clean iron technologies will not only be very significant in decarbonizing steel but will also have a positive impact on the base metals industry where iron is currently viewed as a major impurity. Imagine if the iron content in base metals’ polymetallic ores can be transformed into a salable product, it will contribute to projects’ bottom line, lead to effective use of resources as well as reduce the need for mining virgin iron ores. All of these will have a very significant environmental benefit for the planet.”
